ANNUAL ACTIVITIES

There are various activities held at the Alamo Mission. Some are annual events, and others are one time private events.

One such annual event is the Turtle Derby. August sets the scene for our Turtle Race and Cook-out. A last chance to have fun for area children before returning to school for a new year.

We feed everyone for free and provide not only the great race but also provide turtles for those who haven’t been able to find their own turtle.

Prizes are awarded for the fastest, the biggest, the smallest, and the most decorated turtle.

Another annual event is the Halloween Hayride.

Each October the museum hosts a Halloween Hayride and Cookout for the area children. This event is free to the public and the last two years we fed over 200 children.

A costume contest has been added, in addition to our apple bobbing and other activities.
